Predictive vs Preventative
While PM replaces parts on a fixed schedule (often discarding components that still have life), Predictive Maintenance (PdM) uses vibration analysis, ultrasonic monitoring, and thermal imaging to replace components only when their condition dictates. Investing in spindle vibration analysis can safely extend bearing rebuild intervals by up to 30% without risking catastrophic failure.
